Civil Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our team at DMR Personnel Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day running of Civil Engineering projects, working alongside other engineers to deliver high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of associated drawings from concept stage through to construction.
  • Growing civil engineering expertise as well as maintaining and developing client relationships.
  • Manage, design, develop, create and maintain small-scale through to large-scale construction projects in a safe, timely and sustainable manner.
  • Support and coaching of other team members in undertaking technical work and report writing.
  • Conduct on-site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other).
  • Carry out technical and feasibility studies and draw up designs that satisfy technical specifications.
  • Assess potential risks, materials and costs.
  • Provide advice and resolve creatively any emerging problems/deficiencies.
  • Oversee and mentor staff and liaise with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Hand over the resulting structures and services for use.
  • Monitor progress and compile reports on project status.
  • Manage budget and purchase of equipment/materials.
  • Comply with guidelines and regulations including permits, safety etc and deliver technical files and other technical documentation as required.
Requirements:
  • At least 3 years of relevant civil/structural design and assessment experience.
  • Chartered or currently studying for chartership in either ICE or IStructE or equivalent.
  • Able to prepare designs, check drawings & write, review and accept civil engineering scopes for designers and contractors with minimal supervision.
  • Co-ordination of multi-disciplines requirements with the development of civil engineering solutions.
  • Hands-on surveys and using design and technical standards Eurocodes / BS standards.
