About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate checking of medications for the inpatient pharmacy department. They will work collaboratively with the pharmacy team to maintain stock control, replenish supplies, and uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation within the dispensary.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Abide by GPHC standards of conduct, ethics, and performance, observing and applying all professional, ethical, and legal obligations
  • Select, label, and dispense correct items in accordance with SOPs to ensure safe supply to patients under the supervision of the pharmacist
  • Dispensing, accuracy checking, and balance checks of controlled drugs
  • Checking the accuracy of inpatient prescriptions dispensed by other pharmacy staff, identifying and ensuring correction of all dispensing errors or items not acceptable to release, to prevent these reaching the patient
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Current and valid registration with the GPHC as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Previous experience working as an ACT Pharmacy Technician
  • Hold an NVQL3 and Btec certificate in pharmacy services that will meet the registration of Pharmacy Technician's criteria or recognised equivalent as defined by the GPHC
  • Ability to communicate efficiently
  • Ability to interpret prescriptions and dispense accurately
  • Experience of using a pharmacy computer-based stock control and dispensing system
Working Hours and Contract Duration:

This position will require you to work from Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm, 30 min break, but hours can be flexible. The contract is for 6 months minimum.
