Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team at an SEN Trust. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with a range of needs, including autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, and associated difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with their learning, development, and progress in all areas of the curriculum
  • Help young people with complex needs to achieve their educational and personal goals
  • Develop a greater understanding of Special Education issues and demonstrate these in all aspects of the role
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching team to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Provide individualized support to students with complex medical needs and sensory/physical impairments

Requirements:

  • Passionate about working with students with complex needs
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Compassion and empathy when working with students with challenging behaviors
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion when working with sensitive information
