About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Manager to join our team at Meatex Trading Ltd. in Carlisle. As a key member of our Meals division, you will be responsible for leading and developing a team of production staff, ensuring the efficient production of chilled meals for retail customers.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food manufacturing, preferably in a chilled environment. You will be results-focused, with a proven track record of successfully meeting KPIs and implementing new processes to drive improvements. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be working closely with colleagues at all levels across the business.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and developing a team of production staff to achieve operational targets and drive performance.
  • Coaching and mentoring team members to improve engagement and morale.
  • Proactively reviewing operational trends and performance metrics, implementing corrective actions to ensure delivery of the production plan.
  • Identifying opportunities for improvements in the team, ensuring all colleagues are motivated and equipped to perform to the best of their ability.
  • Promoting a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance to all HSE standards.

About You

We are looking for a Production Manager who can deliver operational targets and drive behavioural change. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience leading and improving production teams in a food manufacturing environment, preferably chilled.
  • Results-focused with demonstrable experience of successfully meeting KPIs and implementing new processes to drive improvements.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, a 'hands on' manager who can motivate a team and engage with people to deliver change.
  • Strong analytical skills, able to use data to make informed decisions and improve performance.
  • Proactive and confident in approach, able to work well with colleagues at all levels across the business.
