Position: Director of Breast Screening

The Breast Imaging Radiology team at East Kent Hospitals has a long-standing reputation for delivering exceptional breast screening and symptomatic breast services. We operate from Kent and Canterbury Hospital and provide screening services to the wider Kent and Medway region.

Your Role as Director of Breast Screening

As the Director, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, management, and oversight of our comprehensive breast screening service. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing a dedicated team of healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Cultivating a collaborative and innovative work environment that promotes teamwork and continuous improvement in service delivery.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant NHS guidelines and best practices for breast screening and diagnosis.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the breast screening program.
  • Maintaining strong communication channels with stakeholders, including clinicians, patients, and community partners.

About You

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced healthcare leader with a proven track record in managing complex healthcare services. You will possess:

  • Full GMC Registration and CCT Specialist Registration in Radiology.
  • Extensive experience in leading and managing breast screening programs within an NHS setting.
  • A deep understanding of NHSBSP breast diagnosis and management requirements.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • A commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and continuous professional development.
