We are currently seeking a CNC Setter to oversee the operation of Computer Numeric Controlled (CNC) turning machinery, from initial setup through to operational management. This role includes routine checks of emergency stops and safety equipment, with the expectation to operate multiple machines as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:- Manufacture components based on job card specifications, demonstrating proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, including tool cutting points and TNR compensation.
- Review and modify CNC programs as needed.
- Select and configure the appropriate tools for each task.
- Utilize various mechanical and optical measurement tools to verify seal dimensions, ensuring compliance with specified tolerances.
- Conduct batch inspections at defined intervals as per standard operating procedures.
- Identify and discard defective parts that do not meet quality standards.
- Set up and operate multiple CNC machines as required.
- Perform initial checks on first-off parts, verifying dimensions against technical drawings and making necessary adjustments.
- Document job details, including start and end times, using barcode scanning for traceability.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area before transitioning to subsequent tasks.
- Demonstrated experience with CNC turning is essential.
- Familiarity with Fanuc operating systems or Okuma machinery is advantageous.
- Prior experience in engineering production is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings effectively.
- Flexibility in operating various CNC machines and adapting to different products and areas.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask efficiently.
- Capability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Methodical approach to work, maintaining discipline and cleanliness.
- Comprehensive understanding of health and safety protocols and the appropriate use of personal protective equipment.
