About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Compliance Specialist to join our team at Rec Sense Recruitment. As a VAT Planning Expert, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our clients' VAT affairs comply with statutory time limits, and managing compliance work efficiently, profitably and in accordance with our tax manual.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compliance Management: Ensure clients' VAT affairs comply with statutory time limits, and manage compliance work efficiently, profitably and in accordance with our tax manual.
  • VAT Planning: Identify and advise on VAT planning opportunities and undertake specialist technical assignments as required.
  • Client Communication: Respond to clients' correspondence as a matter of priority, and keep the client and partner fully informed of the current status of the VAT work.
  • Client Service: Act as the principal point of contact to clients on VAT queries and maintain excellent client service always.
  • Liaison and Collaboration: Ensure appropriate liaison takes place with other departments.
  • Work Management: Monitor work in progress reports, to ensure the profitable recoverability of work done and to bill clients on a timely basis.
  • Professional Development: Develop an advanced level of technical knowledge through appropriate reading and courses and an awareness of our services, brochures and publications.
  • Business Development: Identify, interview and convert prospective clients and assist other departments in the research and preparation of formal proposals for new work.
  • Quality Control: Assist in review and quality control procedures and the administration of the department where required.
  • Team Collaboration: Attend staff meetings and training as required.
About You

We are looking for a Tax Compliance Specialist with solid indirect tax experience and effective team leadership skills, with an interest in and/or aptitude for business development. As a VAT Planning Expert, you will have the opportunity to accelerate your knowledge and skills in a creative, entrepreneurial and supportive team, working with lots of fantastic clients along the way.

Requirements
  • Qualifications: Preferably CTA / ATII qualified or equivalent, ideally with an accounting qualification such as ACA or ACCA.
  • Experience: Proven experience in client handling and project management.
  • Tax Experience: Proven tax experience in producing high quality work within budget.
