Transport Operations Manager

Clark Resourcing Solutions is currently assisting our Equipment Rental Specialist client in sourcing a full-time Transport Controller covering the South East depots and staff.
Our successful candidate will be reporting to the Operations Support Manager as part of a team of two Transport Controllers looking after the North and South of the UK, you will be responsible for the day-to-day compliance of the fleet and drivers ensuring the business is compliant within the transport function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review of daily checks and address issues identified
- Tacho compliance, coaching and recommending action for addressing non-conformities
- Ensure currency of driving licence checks
- Daily review of PCNs, speeding and parking fines and follow-up action where required
- Deliver driver inductions and training
- Monitor attendance at mandatory training, including CPC, FORS and IPAF
- Post-accident investigations to establish root cause and required action / training
- Maintain log of commercial vehicles, including location, lease dates, mileage, etc.
- End of lease vehicle checks
- Ensure roadworthiness of the fleet, including regular maintenance, servicing, MoTs, and tailgates
- Vehicle spot checks
- Arrange spot hires and monitor off-hires / approval for extension of spot hire
- Ensure all spot hire vehicles are compliant (insurance, tolls, restrictions)
The Ideal Candidate:
- Transport background with a thorough understanding of all compliance-related issues
- IT literate with a good understanding of Microsoft Office
- Excellent attention to detail
- Valid driving licence
- Flexible and willing to travel nationally and work in different locations across the UK as required by the role
- Approachable, with a desire to help resolve issues
