Service Overview: Our facility is a spacious five-bedroom residence designed to create a nurturing environment. The home features two main communal areas: one for quiet reflection and another for social interaction, games, and entertainment.

Three of the five bedrooms are equipped with en-suite facilities and are designed to allow young people to personalize their living spaces.

Role Overview: This position offers the chance to join a committed and trauma-informed team, working directly with young individuals facing various challenges stemming from their past experiences.

As a Youth Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the lives of young people. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging positively and respectfully with all young individuals to foster strong relationships and encourage personal achievements.
  • Collaborating with team members to address the social, emotional, educational, and mental health needs of the young people.
  • Encouraging young individuals to participate in household tasks to develop essential self-care skills.
  • Documenting progress through review reports, risk assessments, and contributions to care plans.
  • Coordinating with parents and partner organizations to ensure the best interests of the young people are prioritized.

Ideal Candidate: The successful candidate will possess:

  • A solid understanding of the developmental needs and milestones of young individuals.
  • Experience working with children and families.
  • A valid driving license.
  • Strong communication skills to build positive relationships with young people, parents, and professionals.
  • Ability to produce clear and concise written documentation and verbally present information effectively.
  • Capability to remain calm and objective in challenging situations.
  • Relevant qualifications such as HNC in Social Care, SVQ Level 3 in Care, or a willingness to pursue these qualifications.
