Role Overview:
As a DT Educator, you will have the thrilling opportunity to teach various subjects within the Design & Technology curriculum, including Resistant Materials, Product Design, Graphics, and Textiles across multiple key stages. Your role will be essential in igniting students' enthusiasm for design and creation while supporting their development in technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspire Creative Design: Develop and deliver engaging, hands-on lessons in Design & Technology that empower students to think innovatively.
  • Foster a Collaborative Workshop Environment: Establish an inclusive classroom where students feel secure to experiment, explore, and realize their ideas.
  • Personalize Learning: Tailor teaching strategies to accommodate the diverse needs of your students, ensuring that all can reach their potential.
  • Assess and Guide Progress: Monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback that aids them in refining their skills and enhancing their design thinking.
  • Lead Curriculum Innovation: Contribute significantly to the development of the DT curriculum, integrating new technologies and sustainable practices to keep learning relevant and engaging.
  • Collaborate and Share: Work closely with colleagues to exchange ideas and continuously enhance teaching and learning practices across the department.
  • Enrich the Learning Journey: Engage in extracurricular clubs and school events, motivating students to extend their learning beyond the classroom.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Design & Technology or a related discipline.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Strong subject knowledge across various areas of Design & Technology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • A commitment to promoting creativity, inclusion, and excellence within the educational community.
