Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Workshop Controller to lead and inspire our workshop team at our Mercedes-Benz Dealership in Gloucester. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the flow of work through the workshop, ensuring quality and compliance of all works carried out, and maximizing utilization and efficiency of technicians.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Workshop Management: Oversee the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate the workshop team to deliver exceptional customer service and achieve high-quality results.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all works carried out meet the required standards of quality and compliance.
  • Utilization and Efficiency: Maximize the utilization and efficiency of technicians, ensuring that they are working effectively and safely.
  • Customer Service: Ensure that customers receive exceptional service and that their vehicles are returned to them in a satisfactory condition.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with the front-of-house team, technicians, and other stakeholders to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve any issues that may arise in the workshop, ensuring that they are resolved quickly and effectively.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and development opportunities to the workshop team to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their roles effectively.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all works carried out meet the required standards of compliance, including health and safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
  • Industry Qualifications: Industry qualifications achieved to a minimum of Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or mechanical engineering (all modules completed).
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong technical knowledge of passenger cars and experience in a similar role.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
