Cold Store Operative Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Cold Store Operative at our King George Dock site in Hull. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of products in accordance with our safe systems of work and operating procedures.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and efficient vehicle loading and unloading, reporting any anomalies to the Supervisor/Charge Hand.
  • Operate the Cold Store Warehouse Management System to record and track pallet movements.
  • Monitor and record temperatures, reporting any discrepancies immediately.
  • Drive forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently, removing debris and waste to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Understand and adhere to statutory, legal, food safety, and hygiene standards, as well as customer requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with CCP monitoring, glass, complaints, label verifications, and other paperwork in the department.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, company policies, and procedures, as well as technical specifications and COSHH regulations.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and hygiene practices to ensure product safety and quality.

Requirements:

  • Ped-Op Licence (essential)
  • Ability to use scanners, temperature probes, and other equipment safely and effectively.
  • Understanding of product and location segregation.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in scheduled workload.
