About the Role

Caterpillar is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer to join our Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD). As a key member of our Component Engineering team, you will play a leading role in developing air boosting and charging systems components and turbocharger technology to meet customer needs and improve current products and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver turbocharger component development projects to achieve time, cost, and quality goals.
  • Communicate project status and key issues to peers, stakeholders, and management.
  • Lead design reviews to gain cross-functional business support for new designs, supplier nomination, and capital investment.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to develop specifications and deliver quality solutions utilizing the APQP process.
  • Assess technical risk through FMEA; define and coordinate simulation and validation activities (DVP&R).
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues using 8D methodology and complex data analysis.
  • Write and review technical information and technical reports to support production design release and reflect on lessons learned.
Requirements
  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, engine systems, and turbocharger fundamentals.
  • Ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
  • Effective communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to use tools and techniques to analyze data and determine the root cause of complex technical problems.
