Job Description

Role Overview

The Business Acceptance Unit (BAU) at DiverseJobsMatter is seeking a highly skilled Conflicts Professional to join our team. As a Conflicts Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the Firm's compliance with regulatory obligations by processing and analyzing conflict searches, implementing and maintaining Information Barriers and Insider Lists, and dealing with general client and matter inception queries and engagement letter maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and filter conflict search results, conducting legal and commercial analysis of potential conflict and confidentiality issues. Report only key issues to partners, fee earners, or the OGC team.
  • Analyze confidential records to assess relevance and support OGC in referrals to the Conflicts Committee/Conflicts Partner.
  • Liaise with PAs, fee earners, partners, and OGC in relation to potential issues and general queries.
  • Process all queries received into the team's inbox, including the creation and maintenance of information barriers, processing of relevant reports, and other ad hoc tasks. Deal with compliance-related queries with supervision.
  • Undertake project work in relation to BAU workflows, monitoring systems, and controls.

Requirements

  • Strong and demonstrable analytical skills with the ability to deal with high volumes of information. The ability to understand complex areas of law and apply relevant legal and commercial knowledge.
  • Knowledge of and understanding of how to apply the SRA Code of Conduct 2019 (specifically paragraph and Market Abuse Regulations (MAR).
  • Interpersonal skills – the confidence to liaise with partners and other stakeholders to provide advice on legal and commercial issues, regulations, and firm policy.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure while managing competing deadlines.
  • Initiative, prioritizing, and promptly responding to requests/queries, addressing concerns, anticipating additional needs.
  • Delivering results and providing proactive solutions to difficult issues.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Software (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) previous experience of using Intapp is preferable.
