Position Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable Housing Options and Homelessness Assessment Officer who can effectively operate with minimal oversight. The successful candidate will engage with individuals transitioning from incarceration and will be an integral part of the Housing Options duty service, responsible for conducting assessments and executing prevention and relief initiatives.
Applicants should possess a solid understanding of the Part VII Housing Act 1996, the Homelessness Reduction Act, and other pertinent legislation. Experience in managing homelessness inquiries, casework, and drafting s184 decision letters is essential.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate practical experience in delivering effective Housing Options services under pressure, while adeptly managing a diverse caseload and the various demands of the role.
Flexible working arrangements are available. Candidates should anticipate being office-based for 50% of their time following the completion of an induction period, which typically lasts between two to four weeks, depending on individual competency levels.
Office hours are from 9.00am to 5.00pm.
