Software Tester Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Software Tester to join our QA Test team in Horsham, West Sussex. As a Software Tester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our SaaS platform for UK clients in the insurance sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Contribute to test planning and collaborate with project teams to understand project scope.
  2. Work closely with software developers and project support teams to ensure efficient testing processes.
  3. Conduct various types of testing, including functional, scalability, regression, discovery, stress, and performance testing.
  4. Test development work to ensure acceptance criteria are met and that it functions in line with the development specification.
  5. Write and execute test plans, and test software in different environments, including web and mobile platforms.
  6. Write bug reports and assess code quality, providing objective feedback to software development project teams.
  7. Troubleshoot issues and design tests to mitigate risks, ensuring adherence to departmental and project deadlines.

Requirements:

  1. A minimum of two years integration and system testing experience, ideally within the financial services industry.
  2. A Degree in IT or a similar qualification would be preferred.
  3. Experience working with Azure DevOps and Kanban boards would be an advantage, but not essential.
  4. Experience with Automated Testing would be an advantage, but not essential.
  5. Accreditation in Software Certified Testing (ISTQB or ISEB) would be an advantage, but not essential.
