Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Actuarial Analyst to join our UK Actuarial team at Bupa. As an Actuarial Analyst, you will play a key role in helping us deliver on our strategy by leveraging your mathematical skills to quantify the probability and risk of future events.

About the Role:

  • Leverage our wealth of customer data to analyze historic trends and better understand the drivers of customer behavior and claiming patterns.
  • Develop and run actuarial valuation models to set our technical provisions and project future cashflows, feeding into our quarterly IFRS17 and SII reporting deliverables.
  • Calculate the Solvency Capital Requirement and perform an assessment of our Economic Capital, informing strategic decision making and ensuring that our business is making the most efficient use of its resources.
  • Set key actuarial assumptions, compare actual performance against expectations, and build a feedback loop to ensure that our projections are as accurate as possible.
  • Produce a range of management reporting, which will contribute to key planning and strategy discussions, helping our leaders to confidently steer the business.
  • Ensure that our work meets the highest standards with effective controls and governance, helping protect our data and our customers.
  • Work with other colleagues within the reserving, planning, pricing, underwriting, risk, finance, and group teams, building a culture of trust, collaboration, and creativity.

Requirements:

  • Actuarial student with 3-7 exam passes (e.g. IFoA).
  • General or Health Insurance background.
  • Previous experience in actuarial reserving, reporting, and/or capital.
  • R, SAS, ResQ, Psicle, or Re-Metrica software knowledge is an advantage, but not essential.
  • Proactive mindset and ability to work independently.
  • Ambition and drive.
