About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to lead a team of engineers in defining the electrical power systems for the UK's next-generation submarine design. As an Electrical Power Systems Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for managing the functional design and definition of electrical power systems equipment, as well as managing technical documentation and associated risks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of engineers to deliver the functional design and definition of electrical power systems equipment.
  • Manage the processes and reviews of technical documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks, assumptions, and dependencies, ensuring the successful delivery of projects.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance on electrical power systems to colleagues and stakeholders, promoting best practices and innovation.
  • Engage with customers and suppliers to provide solutions to complex problems, ensuring customer satisfaction and business growth.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve team performance, skills, and knowledge, ensuring the team is equipped to meet future challenges.
Requirements
  • Degree-qualified Electrical Engineering or equivalent engineering background.
  • Engineering Chartership required (or equivalent experience demonstrated).
  • Significant knowledge of AC and DC electrical power systems, including design, installation, and maintenance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Proven leadership and management experience, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
