Job Title: Construction Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Engineer to join our team at Hinkley Point C. As a key member of the MEH Alliance programme, you will be responsible for delivering construction work packs to support the programme's objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Building Lead in day-to-day construction planning, engineering, and works progression.
  • Accountable for delivering discipline-specific construction work pack scope of works to support MEH construction activities.
  • Define the boundary of scope of works and liaise with necessary SMEs and client counterparts.
  • Engage with constructability of construction of specified building(s) using building engineers to facilitate sequencing of installation that maximizes efficiency.
  • Manage project change within specified building(s) ensuring project change process is adhered to.
  • Ensure documents are compliant with latest works information and other MEH documentation.
  • Ownership and driving of deliverables from conception to A-Accepted status.
  • Prioritization and ownership of documentation to enable construction works as per level 4 plan.
  • Support continuous improvement programmes to improve process/procedures.
  • Directly report to Building Manager or nominated deputy.
  • Manage and maintain Procon reporting data for building(s) allocated.
  • Provide and demonstrate positive HSE leadership, building strong and compliant HS&E culture throughout construction life cycle.
  • Ensure compliance with all nuclear safety and site licence requirements.
  • Review and feedback on suitability of level of resource to effectively run support function.
Requirements:
  • Relevant degree in construction or HVAC engineering.
  • HNC in relevant construction discipline or HVAC engineering with extensive experience working in this type of role.
  • 10 years' experience in a site management role.
  • IOSH Managing Safely preferred.
  • CCNSG Safety Passport.
  • Capable of obtaining security clearance of BPSS or higher.
  • Proven experience or safely delivering large scale construction or engineering projects including working at a management level of authority.
  • Experience in the heavy industry or nuclear sectors is beneficial as is experience in working with Joint Ventures.
  • Experience in the management and coordination of multi-discipline construction installation methodologies.
  • A clear communicator, with clarity and positivity.
