About the Role

UCL English seeks a dedicated Lecturer to contribute to our vibrant academic community. This role focuses primarily on teaching undergraduate and postgraduate programs specializing in literature from the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.

We encourage applications from scholars with expertise in areas such as Colonial and Postcolonial Literatures, Visual Culture, or Contemporary Literature.

Your Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging lectures and seminars on literature in English since 1960.
  • Contribute to first-year undergraduate modules like Narrative Texts, Criticism & Theory, and Intellectual and Cultural Sources.
  • Provide one-on-one tutorials to undergraduate students, fostering their academic growth.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the department's overall success.
  • Engage in the UCAS application process, including interviewing prospective students and evaluating written work.

About You

You are a highly motivated individual with a doctorate in English Literature. Your background demonstrates a strong commitment to teaching literature at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. You possess an extensive publication record in your field, commensurate with your career stage, and a deep understanding of research impact.
