Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Proftech Talent. As an Apprentice Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for performing daily, weekly, and monthly inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of equipment and machinery to identify potential issues and perform necessary maintenance tasks.
  2. Respond to breakdowns and perform repairs in a timely and efficient manner.
  3. Report parts used from stock to maintain accurate inventory levels.
  4. Assist in the analysis of breakdowns and suggest corrective actions to prevent future issues.
  5. Perform modifications to plant and equipment as needed.
  6. Install new equipment and assist in the training of apprentices.

Requirements

  1. C+G part 3 or ONC/IHNC qualification.
  2. Time served in a mechanical maintenance role.
  3. Good competency with hydraulic and pneumatic drawings and fault finding.
  4. Experience with motors and drives, including gear motors, reduction gearboxes, and overhead cranes.
  5. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.

Desirable Qualifications

  1. Previous foundry experience.
  2. Forklift truck and access equipment training.
  3. Ability to use lathe, milling machine, grinders, and other equipment.

Working Conditions

This role will involve working in a fast-paced industrial environment, with a focus on maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. The successful candidate will be required to work continental shifts, including days and nights, with a 12-hour shift pattern and a 30-minute lunch break.
