Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Child Clinical Psychologist to join our team at NELFT North East London Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a comprehensive psychological service to children and adolescents with emotional and mental health problems, their carers/parents and families.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to multi-disciplinary assessment and treatment of children and adolescents with emotional and mental health problems, their carers/parents and families.
- Work in partnership with schools to support children, young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties and their families in the self-management of presenting difficulties.
- Develop and implement treatment and management plans for schools, parents, children and young people being supported by the MHSTs using a range of specialist psychological interventions.
- Provide therapeutic interventions with due regard to issues of cultural, racial and religious difference and sexual orientation.
- Undertake observations of children in school settings as part of wider assessments.
- Participate in the audit, quality improvement, research and service evaluation, linking in with the clinical governance agenda.
- Ensure that a high quality, timely, accessible and evidence-based service is available to all service users who need it.
- Be responsible for continually monitoring and evaluating risk to/from children and young people in one's own caseload and during supervision/consultation discussions.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A doctoral level qualification in Clinical Psychology or a related field.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist.
- Experience of working with children and adolescents with emotional and mental health problems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Knowledge of legislation, national and local NHS, Social Care and Education policies and issues of relevance to the patient group.
