About the Role:

Litigation Lawyers are expected to undertake the following duties:

  • Provide legal advice on a wide range of public law and litigation matters, including civil actions and judicial review matters
  • Attend courts and tribunals undertaking advocacy where required
  • Supervise junior members of the litigation team when required
  • Act as a source of legal advice and support to any of the client Committees and Directorates as directed to cover the absence of colleagues

About You:

The successful Litigation Lawyer will be a 2+ PQE admitted Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX of England and Wales with a current practising certificate. Good knowledge of Litigation law and practices are essential.

You must have a demonstrated ability to work under your own initiative, anticipate challenges and deal with them proactively. You must be able to work unsupervised with a flexible approach to teamwork, driven by delivering a high-quality service, and have a positive attitude towards building relationships with the team. You must have the ability to evaluate information in complex situations and confidently make decisions independently.

Requirements:

Previous local authority experience is essential. You must be flexible to travel to evening meetings and to work in other office locations when necessary.
