About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Mental Health Nurse to join our team at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. As a Mental Health Nurse Developmental Role, you will have the opportunity to work in a challenging and fast-paced environment, providing specialist mental healthcare to offenders and contributing to the development of our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist mental healthcare to offenders, working as part of the Mental Health In-Reach Team and wider mental health services.
  • Assess and manage risk, care-plan effectively, and deliver evidence-based interventions to achieve quality health outcomes.
  • Work closely with community mental health teams to ensure continuity of care and the Care Programme Approach for all offenders.
  • Contribute to the development of our team, sharing knowledge and expertise to improve patient outcomes and service delivery.
Requirements
  • RMN qualification (or due to qualify in 2024)
  • Experience of working within Mental Health
  • Ability to assess risk and care-plan effectively
  • Understanding of the 1983 Mental Health Act and subsequent mental health legislation as they pertain to nursing
