About the Company:

Heatrod Elements Ltd is a leading manufacturer of heating elements and associated process heating equipment serving domestic and industrial applications.

We are seeking a skilled welder/fabricator to join our team at our site in Farnworth, Bolton.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing metalwork products using various techniques to defined specifications within set timescales.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will possess a wide range of skills, supporting the development of a new revenue stream.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Following engineering drawings, plans, and technical instructions to produce metalwork products
  • Operating tools, machinery, and welding equipment, applying own knowledge and experience
  • Supporting the Quality Team in preparing standard operating procedures for the area and working to agreed standards
  • Cutting and forming of sheet metal
  • Fabrication of sheet metal/pipes/flange and fittings
  • Inspection, including testing welds to ensure structural soundness and identify any defects
  • Reporting non-conformances
  • Contributing to continuous improvement
  • Assisting with goods in/out as and when required to support the warehouse team
  • Being responsible for health and safety in the work area with a proactive approach
  • Occasional working across other work locations and on site

About You:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in MIG/TIG/ARC welding
  • Demonstrable skills in reading and interpreting technical drawings
  • Experience working with a range of materials, predominantly stainless, alloys, and mild steels

Desirable Experience and Skills:

  • A background in working to aerospace, defence, nuclear, or similar industry standards
  • Experience of continuous improvement to drive efficiency
  • Experience of welding pressure vessels and pressure testing
  • Willingness to support and develop an apprentice
