About the Role

We are seeking an experienced education professional to join our School Improvement Team as a School Improvement Specialist. This is a part-time, term-time only position that requires a strong understanding of SEND guidance and legislation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality advice and challenge to schools to meet their statutory duties and identified needs with regard to inclusion and the education of children with additional needs.
  • Commitment to delivering innovative ways of working to establish service level agreements, source and deliver CPD and curriculum improvement for the Special Schools and Specialist Units.
  • To be the named, accountable Local Authority officer strategically responsible for the oversight of reduced timetables within the borough.
  • To deliver on the H&F School Improvement Strategy including leading on oversight of some statutory and council priorities.
  • To assist policy development on strategic support for SENCOs.
Requirements
  • Significant school senior leadership experience or experience as a Local Authority adviser.
  • Expert understanding of SEND guidance and legislation.
  • A proven track record of supporting headteachers, driving school improvement and supporting pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
