About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Classroom Teacher to join our team at Dunbar Education. As a Classroom Teacher for students with Special Educational Needs, you will play a vital role in providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for children with Autism, Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), Global Developmental Delay (GDD), and other complex conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Holistic Development of Children: Work closely with students to develop individualized education programs aligned with their Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Deliver Adaptable Curriculum: Create and implement a curriculum tailored to the unique needs of each pupil, promoting both academic and social growth.
  • Prepare Comprehensive Reports: Compile detailed reports for Annual Reviews, incorporating feedback from multidisciplinary teams.
  • Provide Pastoral Care: Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals to support pupil well-being.
  • Lead and Inspire a Team: Conduct appraisals and provide guidance to a team of Learning Support Assistants (LSAs).
  • Support Therapeutic Activities: Assist children in participating in activities such as swimming, trampolining, and sensory integration exercises.
  • Maintain High-Quality Classroom Displays: Showcase pupil achievement and progress through engaging classroom displays.
