About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter to join our Mid Market team at Aviva. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the underwriting and financial performance of your team, supporting with trading decisions on complex cases, and engaging with brokers to build strong relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the underwriting team to achieve business objectives and improve processes
  • Develop and implement underwriting strategies to drive business growth
  • Collaborate with brokers to understand customer needs and provide expert advice
  • Conduct data analysis to inform underwriting decisions and identify areas for improvement
  • Support the development of team members through coaching and mentoring

Requirements:

  • Expert knowledge of insurance and commercial underwriting, with experience in property and liability
  • Excellent communication, listening, and time management skills
  • Ability to analyze risks and present complex information to stakeholders
  • Familiarity with regulatory environments and ability to apply underwriting knowledge to improve processes
  • Excellent business development and customer engagement skills
