Diamond Search Recruitment Limited is seeking a highly skilled Estimator (Steel/Fabrication) to join our client's team. As a key member of the project team, you will be responsible for providing accurate and detailed estimates for labour, materials, subcontractors, and other project expenses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to understand project requirements and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather necessary information for estimating purposes and ensure accurate cost analysis.
- Conduct thorough cost analysis of materials, labour, and equipment costs, and prepare detailed estimates for submission to management and clients.
- Present estimates to management and clients clearly and professionally, highlighting key cost-saving opportunities and project risks.
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, including any revisions or changes made throughout the bidding process.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to obtain competitive pricing from suppliers and subcontractors, and negotiate contracts to ensure best value for the project.
Requirements:
- Full UK Driving Licence essential.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the steel construction industry, with a strong understanding of steel construction methods, materials, and costs.
- Proficient in using computer Excel spreadsheets and estimating tools, with excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail with the ability to accurately interpret project plans and specifications.
