GSL Education is a reputable organization dedicated to fostering educational excellence and supporting the growth of students. We are seeking a Behaviour Mentor to join our committed team in South Yorkshire.
Role Overview:
As a Behaviour Mentor, your primary responsibility will be to assist students who encounter emotional, social, or behavioural challenges. You will collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to cultivate a supportive and encouraging atmosphere for students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct individualized or small group mentoring sessions for students facing behavioural challenges.
- Create and execute tailored support plans that address the unique needs of each student.
- Build positive relationships with students to enhance their self-esteem and resilience.
- Track and evaluate student progress, providing consistent feedback to educators and families.
- Work alongside teachers and staff to foster a constructive learning environment.
- Lead workshops focused on social skills and emotional regulation.
- Engage with families to offer support and strategies for managing behaviour at home.
- Maintain detailed records of student progress and interventions.
- Stay updated on best practices in behaviour management and support.
Qualifications:
- Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or a related discipline.
- Experience working with children or young people in educational or support settings.
- Strong knowledge of child development and behavioural issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Capacity to establish rapport with students and create a safe, inclusive environment.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to helping young people thrive.
- Awareness of relevant legislation and policies concerning child protection and safeguarding.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet diverse student needs.
- A valid DBS check is necessary for this position.
