About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and sporty individual to join our team as a Teaching Assistant in Bargoed. As a key member of our educational team, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of engaging lessons and activities, particularly in physical education and sports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting Classroom Activities: Assist teachers in delivering high-quality lessons and activities, utilizing your passion for sports to motivate and engage students.
  • One-on-One Support: Provide additional help to individual students or small groups, tailoring your approach to meet their unique needs.
  • Extracurricular Activities: Lead or assist with sports clubs, after-school activities, and other events that promote physical activity and a love of sports.
  • Behaviour Management: Contribute to maintaining a positive and inclusive environment by supporting classroom behaviour management strategies.
  • General Administrative Duties: Assist with preparing teaching materials, setting up equipment, and other tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • Sporty and Active: A genuine passion for sports and physical activity, with the ability to motivate and engage students in PE lessons and extracurricular activities.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to connect with children, staff, and parents.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members.
  • Empathy and Patience: A supportive and understanding approach to working with children of all abilities.
  • Organisational Skills: Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks.
