Position Overview

We are excited to announce an opening for a Global Product Regulatory Compliance Specialist who will report directly to the Product Regulatory Compliance Program Manager. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring that all products from Smiths Interconnect adhere to relevant regulatory compliance standards. Additionally, you will be tasked with the creation, maintenance, and accessibility of product-related Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all stakeholders.

This position is based at one of our Smiths Group locations and operates during standard office hours with a hybrid work model. Some travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the continuous identification of pertinent laws, regulations, and industry standards related to product regulatory compliance for Smiths Interconnect offerings.
  • Act as a resource throughout the organization regarding product regulatory compliance matters.
  • Oversee the collection, management, and analysis of all data pertinent to product regulatory compliance.
  • Support cross-functional teams in addressing product regulatory compliance-related challenges.
  • Facilitate the documentation collection process from suppliers to ensure compliance with product regulations.
  • Conduct timely reviews of product regulatory compliance and associated risks throughout all stages of the product lifecycle.
  • Serve as a primary contact for inquiries related to product regulatory compliance from both internal and external parties.
  • Collaborate proactively with various functions, including HSE, Procurement, Sales & Marketing, Quality, and Engineering, to identify and mitigate potential compliance risks.
  • Stay informed about new or amended product regulatory compliance laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Provide assistance for customer inquiries related to product regulatory compliance.
  • Support the drafting of product-related safety data sheets and the implementation of product labeling and raw material introduction programs.
  • Assist in preparing external product registrations, certifications, and notifications to support business operations and growth.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of product regulatory compliance training.
  • Engage in advocacy efforts with trade associations as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, commensurate with experience.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess a degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, polymer science, or a related scientific field.
  • Have prior experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrate a broad understanding (intermediate level) of global product regulatory compliance regulations, standards, and certifications, with specific knowledge in sealing and/or electronics being advantageous.
  • Exhibit effective time management skills while prioritizing tasks.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication abilities.
