Transport Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transport Team Manager to join our team at Booker Limited. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all transport operations on a daily, period, and annual basis, ensuring the efficient and cost-effective management of our Transport operations.
Main Responsibilities- Manage and coordinate all transport activities, including vehicle breakdowns, driver debriefs, and maintenance of the fleet.
- Ensure compliance with all transport legislation, including Driver's hours, and analyze Tacho-graph infringement reports.
- Develop and implement processes to improve operations, including the management of internal systems and the development of new systems.
- Communicate with drivers and stakeholders in a professional and timely manner, ensuring that all late departures are handled effectively.
- Assist in the development and achievement of operational goals and KPIs, ensuring that correct processes and procedures are followed.
- Previous experience in transport within the FMCG distribution industry.
- Experience of supervisory or management level within a complex, fast-paced transport operation.
- A professional and confident approach, with the ability to effectively manage drivers and promote standards of excellence.
- Knowledge of driving compliance and associated regulations.
- CPC qualified advantageous (but not essential).
- Excellent organizational skills, with strong interpersonal skills.
- A good understanding of Employment Law and ACAS Code of Practice.
