About the Role

Ecorys is seeking a skilled Senior Economist to join our team of experts in research-based consultancy. As a Senior Economist, you will play a key role in designing and implementing technical elements of large-scale research and evaluation projects, working with clients across the UK and EU markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement research and evaluation projects, including assessing feasibility and appropriateness of different designs, sampling, data collection, and data analysis and reporting.
  • Contribute to work winning by leading or contributing to the quantitative and economic elements of our tenders to secure new work.
  • Develop and deliver quantitative/economic research or evaluations for economic and social policy interventions, either in the UK and EU.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to build and develop team knowledge and skills.
Requirements
  • A first degree in a relevant subject (e.g. economics, data science, maths, or social policy with a strong quantitative focus) and a post-graduate qualification in a relevant subject, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrable experience in the development and delivery of quantitative/economic research or evaluations for economic and social policy interventions, either in the UK and EU.
  • Strong, applied quantitative/economics research skills, including experience of designing, collecting/accessing and analysing quantitative data, and implementing experimental and/or quasi-experimental designs.
  • Good proficiency of MS Office suite and quantitative analysis software (e.g. R, SPSS, Stata).
  • Experience and ability to win new work through tender writing is desirable.
