Solar Field Service Technician

Astute People is working with a leading energy sector company to find a skilled Solar Field Service Technician to join their team. This exciting role involves working across Cornwall and surrounding areas to maintain and operate solar assets, as well as wind farms.
Key Responsibilities- Take primary responsibility for plant performance, optimisation, and equipment maintenance on-site
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior technicians, if qualified
- Perform pre-planned and reactive maintenance works, including electrical maintenance, solar panel cleaning, and HV maintenance if qualified
- Effectively resolve work tickets and report issues to the Manager
- Liaise with internal and external teams, including in-house LV/HV personnel, grounds teams, and external subcontractors
- Participate in the company's on-call rota for non-working hours
- 18th edition wiring regulations desired (17th edition essential)
- Experience in solar preferred, but willingness to learn backed by electrical qualifications
- City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 in Electrotechnical Technology (2330)
- HV AP15 or OP40 desirable but not essential
- IOSH or NEBOSH desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of inverter technologies a huge advantage
- A full UK driving licence essential
- A salary between circa £36,000 to £42,000
