Director of Finance and Resources

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Finance and Resources to join our team at the Human Tissue Authority. As a senior leader, you will be responsible for leading the finance, payroll, and procurement functions, as well as the HR provision, for our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the finance, payroll, and procurement functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee HR policy and delivery, supported by the HR shared services provided through a service level agreement.
  • Take lead responsibility for facilities, health and safety, and environmental issues.
  • Represent us on DHSC/ALB forums, including Finance, HR, and Property/Facilities.
  • Lead, motivate, and manage a small diverse team, delivering key corporate services.

Requirements

  • Qualified accountant recognized by a professional accounting body (e.g., CCAB body / CIMA or equivalent).
  • Significant experience of successful leadership and achievement at a senior level in the public or regulatory sector.
  • Experience in a senior resources role, including a track record of successful financial management and production of annual reports and accounts.
  • Proven experience of working and contributing at Board level.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.

What We Offer

  • Salary of circa £70,000 per annum.
  • Days' annual leave (pro rata of 32.5 days' annual leave for FTE role) plus 8 public holidays.
