Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our specialist team at St Luke's Hospice Plymouth. As a Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality palliative care to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' needs and develop personalized care plans to meet their practical, psychological, spiritual, and social needs.
  • Work closely with the Clinical Nurse Specialist team and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care and support to patients in their own homes and in the inpatient unit.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and carers to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the hospice's palliative care strategy, including early intervention and identification of palliative and end-of-life care needs.
Requirements
  • Registered Occupational Therapist with a strong background in palliative care and rehabilitation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork.
  • Knowledge of palliative care principles and practices, including symptom management and end-of-life care.
