About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic team in York, home of the Poppets. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Daily Reporting: You will be responsible for daily reporting of breakdowns and PPM activities, ensuring that all maintenance work is accurately recorded and reported.
  • Prioritization of Repair Work: You will prioritize repair work to minimize downtime and ensure that production schedules are met.
  • Machine Performance Monitoring: You will monitor machine performance and work with the Planning Department to negotiate machine availability.
  • Technical Support: You will provide technical support to production teams as required, ensuring that all equipment is functioning correctly and efficiently.
  • Housekeeping and Compliance: You will maintain the highest standards of housekeeping and compliance, adhering to GMP and safety standards within the Engineering Department.
Requirements
  • Relevant Engineering Qualification: You will hold a relevant engineering qualification and be able to prove competency in all forms of isolation, electrical safety, and safe panel entry.
  • FMCG Experience: You will have experience of FMCG operations and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Computer Literacy: You will be PC literate and able to use computer-based maintenance systems.
  • Machine Maintenance: You will be able to strip machines in full and reassemble them, as well as complete machine size change procedures and their adjustments.
