About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Senior or Principal Flood Modeller/Hydrologist to join our Hydrological Sciences team at Stantec. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for working with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders to deliver technical work and assist more junior staff in their projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Flood Risk Assessments and Flood Modelling (fluvial, pluvial and tidal) to identify potential flood risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and manage projects, including setting up and managing projects, developing fee proposals, and collaborating with clients and stakeholders.
  • Work with hydraulic modelling software (e.g. Flood Modeller Pro, ISIS – Tuflow, Estry – Tuflow, WinDes and Microdrainage) to estimate flows and develop hydrological assessments.
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to develop and implement Sustainable Drainage System (SuDS) designs and hydraulic modelling.
  • Conduct Environmental Impact Assessments, fluvial geomorphology audits, hydromorphological impact assessments, and Water Framework Directive assessments.

About You

We are looking for a highly experienced and skilled individual with a strong background in hydraulic modelling, hydrological assessments, and flow estimation. You will hold a degree in Environmental Science and a relevant master's degree. Chartered status with a relevant professional institution is essential, although we will consider and support individuals currently working towards obtaining chartership.
