Assistant Management Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Management Accountant to join our fast-paced Finance team. As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of the month-end management accounts, working closely with the Finance Manager and other team members.
The successful candidate will have a strong analytical and diagnostic skillset, with advanced Excel skills and the ability to provide real added value, insight, and interpretation into the numbers. You will also have excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with other Finance team members and stakeholders.
This is a hybrid role, requiring the ability to commute comfortably to our Customer Support Centre in Walsall. The role is for a 12-month Fixed Term Contract to cover a period of maternity.

Your Impact and Responsibilities- Preparation of month-end schedules, accruals, and prepayments for head office cost centres, ensuring that month-end deadlines are met.
- Completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring balances are understood and queries rectified in a timely manner.
- Drive efficiency of financial process via continuous improvement and identification of potential opportunities.
- Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of reports used by stakeholders across the business, assisting with cost control and driving company performance.
- Production of Office of National Statistics submissions and other external surveys.
- Assist with the completion of VAT and Corporation Tax returns, ensuring external submission deadlines are met.
- Approve purchase orders in line with company policy, ensuring accurate coding and meaningful descriptions are provided by the requisitioner.
- Ad hoc support of other tasks, such as audit.
