Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled TIG/MIG Welder and Fabricator to join our team on a temporary to permanent basis. As a key member of our client's team, you will be responsible for interpreting blueprints, selecting appropriate tools and metals, measuring and assembling metal pieces, and ensuring the highest quality of work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret blueprints and specifications to determine the required materials and tools.
  • Select and measure metals to ensure accurate cuts and assemblies.
  • Assemble metal pieces using TIG/MIG welding techniques.
  • Prepare work surfaces and metals to ensure safe and effective assemblage.
  • Train and mentor welding apprentices and new recruits.
  • Clean and inspect welding equipment and tools regularly.
  • Operate cranes and machinery to transport materials to welding work sites.
  • Determine correct gas ratios and test the strength of each join.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues as required.
  • Liaise with the line manager or supervisor to report any issues and suggest improvements.
Requirements
  • A completed apprenticeship or vocational training in welding and fabrication.
  • A relevant certificate from a welding association may be required.
  • Excellent stamina, strength, and dexterity.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
  • Sound understanding of welding safety.
  • The ability to teach and train others would be advantageous.
  • A willingness to learn and work overtime when required.
Working Hours and Pay

Monday to Thursday: 07:00 - 16:00

Friday: 07:00 - 13:00

Pay rate: £15 per hour

Please note that you will be required to complete a weld test before being offered the role.
