Position Overview

We are currently looking for a dedicated individual to join our Radiopharmacy team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the preparation and delivery of radiopharmaceuticals, ensuring high-quality service for our patients.

Key Responsibilities

The Radiopharmacy Technician will be responsible for a variety of essential tasks, including:

  • Providing administrative support to the Radiopharmacy team, including maintaining accurate departmental records.
  • Conducting precise record-keeping in accordance with the Pharmaceutical Quality System.
  • Managing archiving and data entry tasks efficiently.
  • Responding to inquiries both over the phone and in person.

In addition, the role involves participating in the daily operations of the Radiopharmacy department, which includes:

  • Ensuring the unit is sanitized according to established Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Preparing and dispatching radiopharmaceuticals to various clients.
  • Setting up for production sessions and performing aseptic decontamination transfers.
  • Receiving all goods, including radioactive materials, and conducting rolling stock checks.
  • Handling and disposing of radioactive waste responsibly.
  • Assisting in audits and monitoring of Radiopharmacy services through data collection.

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications:

  • Science GCSE/O-Levels A to C or NVQ Level 2 in Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related field.
  • Experience in a healthcare or laboratory setting, or another regulated environment.
  • Ability to adhere to written procedures and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Professional demeanor with a positive attitude towards all tasks and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, along with effective communication abilities.
  • Capability to work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility in work practices.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and stock management software.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Science A levels.
  • Experience in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment, particularly in radiopharmacy.
  • Knowledge of EU good manufacturing practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to maintaining a controlled environment, including cleanliness and organization.
