Location: London
Contract Duration: 11 Months
Compensation: From £ p/h PAYE
Working Hours: 9am-6pm
This organization, a prominent technology leader globally acknowledged for its social networking platforms and communication applications, is in search of a Linguistic Analyst II to enhance their team in London.
Key Responsibilities:
• Execute linguistic evaluations on large-scale datasets.
• Investigate linguistic inaccuracies in AI model outputs to pinpoint prevalent categories.
• Formulate and revise protocols for annotation and translation initiatives.
• Conduct typological and sociolinguistic studies across various languages, focusing on both commonalities and distinctions.
• Examine linguistic phenomena for Responsible AI projects in varied linguistic contexts.
• Review academic literature on NLP-related subjects and distill essential insights.
• Assess vendor submissions for quality, recognize error patterns, and deliver constructive critiques.
• Provide linguistic insights on diverse topics such as typology, syntax, sociolinguistics, phonetics, and more.
• Collaborate with native speakers of multiple languages and convey analytical findings to technical teams.
Required Skills:
• Exceptional English communication abilities, both written and spoken.
• Near-native fluency in a non-English language (CEFRL C2 level).
• Competence in Python programming and database querying (SQL), with knowledge of additional data analysis languages like R being a plus.
• Capability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, and manage complex requests efficiently.
• Strong project management capabilities and self-driven motivation.
• Familiarity with global language classification standards.
Education and Experience:
• A graduate degree in Linguistics or a related discipline is required, with a focus on corpus linguistics being advantageous.
• In-depth understanding of linguistic domains and some exposure to Natural Language Processing methodologies.
• 0-3 years of pertinent experience, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and contributing to research publications.
