At Universal Quantum, we are at the forefront of transforming technology through quantum computing. We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer who is eager to contribute to pioneering advancements in this field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and evaluate thermal control systems specifically for ion trap quantum devices.
  • Design and assemble electronic enclosures tailored for quantum applications.
  • Ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs with laser and electronic systems.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, physicists, and quantum specialists.
  • Support project management through planning, reporting, and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in scheduling, risk assessment, and coordination efforts.

Essential Qualifications:

  1. Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing thermal management systems.
  2. Skilled in creating electronic enclosure assemblies.
  3. Capable of developing intricate simulations for thermal management systems.

Desired Skills:

  • A minimum of 3 years of engineering experience in a competitive environment.
  • Proficient in mechanical system design, particularly with thermal and electronic components.
  • Experienced in using 3D CAD/CAE software.
  • Knowledgeable in FEA, stress analysis, structural design, and testing methodologies.
  • Understanding of material science and its implications for vacuum and thermal systems.
  • Able to collaborate effectively with suppliers and contractors while managing projects.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

Preferred Expertise:

  • Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
  • Familiarity with the design of vacuum and cryogenic systems.
  • Expertise in vibrational modeling and fatigue analysis.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks and Ansys software.
