Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Tool Design Engineer to join our team at New Resource Group. As a recognised innovator in the field of manufacturing and engineering, we specialise in the design, development, testing and manufacture of integrated protective systems.

The Role:

As a Tool Design Engineer, you will support the lead tooling engineer with mould tool design and sustaining functions, from design concept to production, ensuring efficiency and compliance with company procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop new moulds and tooling, utilising your analytical skills and 3D CAD proficiency.
  • Support legacy tooling maintenance, repairs, and improvements, ensuring tool design complies with health and safety legislation.
  • Manage tooling assets and conduct tooling audits, applying Six Sigma principles to meet objectives and improve processes.
  • Conduct process verifications using SPC data and prepare process improvement recommendations, working closely with Maintenance to ensure equipment uptime.
  • Evaluate and manage capex investments, ensuring the company's manufacturing processes are efficient and compliant.

Requirements:

  • Degree, HND, or apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or Polymer Technology, with rubber mould tool design experience.
  • Strong communication skills and technical knowledge of polymers and manufacturing processes.
  • Hands-on practical skills with a self-starter attitude.
