Role Overview:
Reporting directly to the Procurement Director, the Supply Chain Procurement Specialist will collaborate with the procurement team to enhance operational efficiency, achieve cost reductions, and optimize inventory management in partnership with the sales team to ensure customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the procure-to-pay (P2P) process alongside a team of procurement professionals.
- Generate and manage purchase orders and oversee stock replenishment.
- Procure goods and materials in alignment with customer requirements.
- Maintain optimal stock levels to meet demand.
- Address and resolve quality issues with suppliers as identified in the warehouse.
- Collaborate with sales to provide updates and modifications to open purchase orders.
- Develop and sustain strong supplier relationships through effective communication.
- Uphold a professional and consistent approach in all supplier interactions.
- Ensure adherence to compliance guidelines, purchasing policies, and procedures.
- Work closely with colleagues in procurement to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience in a purchasing role, ideally within the aerospace or manufacturing sectors.
- Background in procurement or buying functions.
- Relevant qualifications from the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) or progress towards such qualifications is advantageous.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving work environment.
- Self-driven and confident in decision-making.
- Familiarity with integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is a plus.
- Strong relationship-building skills with staff, stakeholders, and suppliers.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
- Commercial acumen and understanding of the impact of procurement decisions on business operations and customer fulfillment.
- Capacity to perform well under pressure and navigate challenging situations.
