Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated Lead Structural Engineer or Structural Engineer to become part of our vibrant UK Structural team within the Resilience Global Business Area. Our initiatives cover comprehensive design elements in the water and energy sectors, addressing everything from minor technical challenges to extensive, multifaceted projects that prioritize sustainable design.

Key Responsibilities:

You will be tasked with managing small to medium structural projects and segments of larger initiatives for Arcadis. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising project structural analysis, design, and digital modeling
  • Creating design models, calculations, and documentation
  • Following company protocols to deliver safe, sustainable, and innovative technical work under the mentorship of Principal Engineers and Structures team Directors
  • Learning from senior colleagues and leading small structural teams
  • Collaborating effectively within project teams and with peers from other design disciplines to enhance project outcomes
  • Engaging with Arcadis Global Design Centers to execute project tasks
  • Providing insights on structural requirements for project proposals, evaluating and managing budgets, timelines, and risk assessments
  • Exploring career advancement opportunities within Arcadis

Qualifications & Skills:

To thrive in your role at Arcadis, you should possess:

  • An honors degree and Chartered status with ICE or IStructE
  • Expertise in structural analysis and design across various materials, particularly concrete and steel to Eurocodes standards
  • Familiarity with structural software such as ROBOT, TEDDS, Masterseries, and 3D digital tools like REVIT and Navisworks
  • Design proficiency in civil engineering structures, buildings, and soil/structure interaction
  • Experience in managing design teams and overseeing contributions from technicians and junior staff
  • A passion for innovative design, leveraging new technologies with a focus on sustainability
  • Ability to conduct independent structural inspections, assessments on-site, and produce detailed reports
