Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Logistics Driver to join our team at Great Bear. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of goods and materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a range of vehicles, including HGVs and LGVs, to transport goods and materials to customers' premises.
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure vehicles are in good working order and comply with company and regulatory standards.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, fuel consumption, and delivery schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery operations.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, including health and safety protocols, to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with the Transport Coordinator to plan and coordinate delivery schedules and routes.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance knowledge and skills in transportation and logistics.
Requirements
  • Possession of LGV Class C+E Licence, CPC, and valid Tacho card.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Adaptable and methodical approach to work, with a focus on efficiency and productivity.
  • Knowledge of road transport regulations and current drivers' hours.
