About Us

Laidlaw Auctioneers & Valuers is a reputable, mid-sized provincial firm comprising three experienced auctioneers and valuers with six colleagues in supporting roles. Our restored period premises comprise a modern open-plan office and reception with a mezzanine floor housing an impressive reference library, two attractive salerooms, a gallery, a commercial-grade kitchen for staff use, and further office / ancillary spaces.

Our Auction Process

We hold monthly auctions typically of curated lots comprising a series of substantial specialist categories sold over 2-3 days. All lots are professionally catalogued and studio photographed. While we happily handle modestly valued lots which possess merit, we do not offer general "boxed lots" or the simply second hand. Our breadth of expertise is extensive and we receive consignments from across the UK and indeed abroad.

Our Team Culture

We work almost exclusively for private sellers and are currently looking to recruit another experienced auctioneer and valuer to join our close-knit, high achieving yet internally irreverent team. We work hard, we aspire to excellence, but we have a lot of laughs in the process.
