About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager to join our team at Omega. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of quality, health, and safety across our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Implement Health and Safety Policies: Create and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  2. Lead by Example: Provide active, visible leadership for all quality, health, and safety matters, setting a positive tone for the team.
  3. Embed Industry Standards: Ensure the requirements of relevant industry standards, such as ISO 14001, ISO 9001, and ISO 45001, are implemented and measured through auditing and continuous improvement activities.
  4. Advise on Safe Systems of Work: Develop and maintain safe systems of work, ensuring compliance with legislation and providing support for personnel training.
  5. Measure Performance: Monitor and report on quality, health, and safety performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  6. Foster a Safety Culture: Promote a culture of quality, safety, and environmental awareness, engaging workers and stakeholders in the organization's STEP123 and Think Safe initiatives.
  7. Prepare Evidence for Accreditation: Gather and present quality, health, and safety evidence for third-party accreditation bodies, ensuring the organization maintains its ISO certifications and awards.
  8. Support Business Growth: Provide health, safety, and environmental information for new project tenders, supporting the organization's business development efforts.
  9. Investigate Incidents: Conduct thorough investigations into incidents, identifying root causes and implementing measures to prevent reoccurrence.
  10. Monitor Compliance: Promote and monitor compliance with safety, health, quality, and environmental programs, ensuring the organization meets its regulatory obligations.
  11. Develop the IMS: Maintain and develop the organization's Integrated Management System (IMS), ensuring it remains effective and efficient.
Requirements
  1. Relevant Experience: At least 5 years of experience in quality, health, safety, and environmental management, preferably in a heavy manufacturing or construction environment.
  2. Qualifications: Auditor qualification leading to lead auditor, NEBOSH general certificate, IEMA Environmental Management qualification, and experience with heavy manufacturing and MIG/MAG welding.
  3. Leadership Skills: Strong management, leadership, and organizational skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with the team, clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, and third-party auditors.
  4. Professional Membership: Membership of a professional body, such as IOSH, is beneficial.
